The majestic volcanic tube remains strictly closed to the general public due to unexpected landslides located at the main entrance. For your personal safety, access is completely prohibited (official status recorded from 2018-03-10). This underground natural wonder in Villaverde is one of the oldest volcanic formations on the island, acting as an irreplaceable sanctuary for protected subterranean fauna, including unique species of arachnids.
Although exploring its deeper galleries is currently not possible, the interpretation center outside offers a fascinating educational journey through geology. It is highly valued by eco-conscious travelers who visit the quiet north to learn about the island's powerful volcanic origins and the preservation of its fragile ancient ecosystems.
